Slate Shower

If you've ever wondered about putting stone in your shower then wonder no more. I've recently completed a slate shower surround. These stone tiled showers look rich and elegant. The shelves are travertine and there's a decorative row of 6x6's set on the diagonal to add even more to this beautiful shower. Doing my best to keep the blog updated over the holidays. Happy New Year everyone!

Hi, I just found your photo of the slate shower surround while searching for advice- we just had a slate tile shower surround and bathroom floor installed by a contractor, but will be cleaning and sealing the slate ourselves before using it.
Do you have any recommendations for the best products to use for the job? I've found some Dupont brand stone tile cleaner and sealant at Lowe's, but I'm wondering if there's something more fitting to use on slate that will constantly be in a wet environment. We'd like to enhance the slate to have the "wet" look, but really would just like to do whatever will give it the best seal.

Thanks for any tips or advice you might have!
